Simon Gear is a senior broadcasting meteorologist with the SABC where he has provided weather production and presentation services to all of the SABC’s domestic and international TV channels since 1999. He also does the weather for the John Robbie show on Talk Radio 702 and Aiden Thomas on 567 Cape Talk. He is also the environmental correspondent for Primedia Broadcasting which encompasses 702 and 567 as well as KFM in Cape Town and 94.7 in Johannesburg. Simon doesn’t like Darren ‘Whackhead’ Simpson one bit.

Simon is an accomplished writer. You can currently read him in his monthly column in Runners World SA. His first book, on simple environmental advice for day to day living will be out in April of 2009.

He has also appeared in various adverts for radio and television, the most recent being Food and Trees for Africa’s climate change campaign.
